Maths

Today for math we got a sheet with 100 times table questions, we had to try answer them all within 10 minutes. I got 97/100 and finished at 8m 30s. My goal is to get it done under 5 minutes next time.

Today for fitness I went swimming. Lately we've been working on breaststroke and backstroke. For breaststroke we are working on doing little arms and having the right footwork. For backstroke we are working on our arms touching our ears. I find breaststroke kind of tiring because we do it every second lap. Backstroke and freestyle is quite easy for me because I always did them when I was younger.

Literacy

In literacy the year 8's have been looking at careers and making ads out of the career we choose.

I chose to make an add about The Poo Man Plumbing company, below is the add that I made.

First Day Back

On February third, school started again. Last year I was in Ata Hapara but this year I'm spending my last year at Rawhiti in Tangaroa. I was excited to come back to see my friends that were still at Rawhiti like Kymaira and Kahu and stuff. I hang out with Kymaira at break time and in the mornings. In class I hangout with Ava unless she's not at school. We played a few games for a few days just to settle in and to know the other students in the class. We've slowly started to get in to doing mahi like handwriting and math. Some days we do zumba and some days we go swimming. I didn't have the best day because my main friends like Kymaira wasn't with me but throughout the week I have had better days at school because I've started to have a closer friendship with Ava and Jelani.

Running

Most mornings Tangaroa runs around the bike track two times. The first lap, we get into groups of three and then run around the bike track. The second lap, we get into groups of three and run around the bike track. I think the athletic kids enjoy it but a majority of the class doesn't. It gets most of our energy out so we can be calmer when we are trying to do our work in the first block.
