Last week we learnt about the Maori creation story. We then made our own comic strip for re-telling this story.
This is what we said in our Maori creation story.

In the beginning there was Ranginui the sky father and Papatuanuku the earth mother.

Papatuanuku and Ranginui had six chirldren. Tumatauenga, Tane Mahuta, Rongomatane, Haumia tike-tike, Tangaroa, and Tawhirimatea.

The children didn't like the dark and it was to cramped. They decided to try seperate thier parents.

Tangaroa and Tumatauenga tried to push thier parents apart but they had no luck.

Tane-Mahuta decided to lay on his back and push his parents apart.

Tane Mahuta cloaked his father in clouds, the sun, the moon, and the stars. He also cloaked his mother in flowers, fern, and bushes. Tane Mahuta then became the god of forests. Tumatauenga, god of war and man.

Haumia tike-tike became the god of uncaultivated food, thangaroa now god of the sea, Rongomatane now the god of peace, and Tawhirimatpeople say when it rains it's Ranginui crying for his lost love.

It was hard to make this comic story because we had to match the pictures and the words together witch was quite hard.
We're proud of this because it looks good even though it took some time but at least we didn't rush it.
